Senior Java Developers


Company: Our client is UK company , located in London
Work Type: Contract based minimum 6 months, with an option to extend on a month-to-month basis.
Misc: Selected candidates will initially spend couple of weeks in the London office, to get introduced with development environment and other members of team.

The Role

Principle responsibilities

  • Development of new features and products.
  • Maintenance and support of existing software and related services.
  • Delivery of end-to-end projects both on your own and in multi-developer environments.
  • Working as part of a multi-disciplined team without close supervision.
  • Working with large databases and data-driven applications.
  • Reviewing code of other developers to ensure clarity, optimal code structure and adherence to company coding standards.
  • Compliance with company standards, policies and processes.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Extensive software development experience
  • Experience use of the Spring Framework
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
  • Strong understanding of relational database systems and ORM concepts.
  • Experience of developing technical solutions based on business requirements.
  • Experience in delivering back-end and front-end systems.
  • Experience in development of high-availability, high-transaction distributed systems.
  • Experience of developing highly interactive websites and familiarity with the challenges involved.
  • Experience of large-team development in integrated environments using managed source control systems.
  • Possess a good, practical understanding of test-driven development practices.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working within agile teams.
  • Experience of the Eclipse IDE and Subversion VCS.
  • Experience of working with enterprise messaging systems and patterns.
  • Experience with any of the following technologies and concepts:
    • AOP/AspectJ
    • Mule ESB
    • RabbitMQ/AMQP
    • NoSQL (Lucene, MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis, neo4j etc.)
    • Domain-driven Design
    • Behaviour-driven Development
    • Cucumber/Cuke4Duke
    • Groovy/Grails
    • Scala
